Cauliflower with Ginger

½ small
½ t

1 lb
¼ cup

2 T
oil or ghee
cumin seeds
ginger, slivered or minced
hot chile (optional)
turmeric
salt
cauliflower flowerets
water

ground coriander
lemon juice
cilantro (or more if you like)

  • Lightly fry cumin for a few seconds in oil
  • Add ginger and chile and fry a few more seconds
  • Add rest of 1st set, toss to coat, and simmer, covered, until cauliflower is almost done
  • Remove cover, add coriander, and turn up heat to boil off excess water
  • When done, add lemon juice and cilantro and serve
  • Yield:  4 servings
